Grandma and Grandpa Stutz

Grandma and Grandpa have each had their share of medical excitement in the last few weeks. First, Grandma had that blood clot in her leg in October which required surgery. Although she is recovering well, she is suffering from sharp constant pain in her back which we believe is shingles. About all that the doctors can do for her is prescribe pain pills which help somewhat. Then Grandpa had an episode that sent him to the hospital this week. He was lethargic and sleepy all day on Wednesday. Things only got worse as the day went on. He wasn't eating or speaking and finally Grandma couldn't get him to respond at all. He was basically unconscious. When one of Grandma's nurses came by that evening, she called Craig and the paramedics and they took him to the hospital. His blood pressure was very low and he was dehydrated. They pumped some fluids into him by IV and he came around, perked up and wanted to go home. They released him that night and when I saw him the next morning he was back to normal. Grandpa and Grandma are both aging but just keep on going. Thanks for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.

Medical Update

As I understand it, Grandma is doing well after surgery yesterday to remove a blood clot, Karla's knee surgery today went better than expected, and Shari's family is in her good care while battling H1N1. Keep up those prayer's -- they seem to be working!

Karla is having knee surgery on Tuesday. Please keep her in your prayers.

BTW...Lil'Millie stole the show, and I snapped quite a few of her as she devolved from spotlessly clean to a total mess. Very cute. Anyway, as always, it was nice seeing you all again. Enjoy the pics and take what you want. (It would be simpler to just post on facebook..but whatever!)

Birthday & Baptism

Please join us on Saturday, August 22nd to celebrate Delilah's 8th birthday. We will be having lunch from 11:30-1:30. There will be swimming and a pinata for the kids.


Delilah's baptism has been scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2009 @ 9:00 am. It will be at the Stake Center (587 S. Saratoga Springs Road, Saratoga Springs, Utah). This church house is down by Utah Lake, so just keep going straight on Redwood Road (heading South) and when you get close to the lake yo will see it on the left-hand side of the road. We will be having a luncheon after the services.

Please let us know if you are planning on attending these events so we can plan for food and the primary presidency can reserve a room for the baptism.
